CCP was founded in Iceland.
The launch of its signature game, EVE Online in 2003 established CCP as one of the most innovative companies in interactive entertainment, winning numerous awards and receiving critical acclaim worldwide. Novator invested in CCP in 2005 to help fund global expansion and in 2018 the company was acquired by South Korean video game publisher Pearl Abyss.
